Pengembangan Kain Tenun Gedog Tuban Bertekstur Dengan Pewarna Alam Mahoni

Abstract

Abstrack Kerek sub-district, Tuban, East Java is a region with characteristic of its farming community and has a tradition of making cloth with traditional woven technique called gedog. Besides gedog, Kerek sub-district has a tradition to use natural dyes in batik coloring as well. The condition of gedog woven fabric nowadays encountered changes, according to Ciptandi research that gedog woven textured fabric natural dyes production has decreased to 80%. This study will utilize previous research, namely Tuban gedog weaving textured with natural dyes which are commonly used in Kerek sub-district and create patterns with certain techniques. The research method begins with seeking information using literature studies. observation and interviews experimenting with colors and patterns with certain techniques.
