Pengolahan Limbah Tekstil Menggunakan Teknik Mixed Media Pada Busana Secondhand

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the utilization of gaining benefits from industrial textile wastes. There are many reasons why this paper is written, i.e the waste from our industrial textile is getting out of hand, especially in Bandung, which have not yet been treated optimally. Whereas, if we seek a little bit deeper there are so much things that could come out of it, for example mixed media. Mixed media is an artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. Assemblages and collages are two common examples of art using different media that will make use of different materials including cloth which is a textile waste. The mixing method of mixed media is being done in order to give an alternate way of utilizing the waste and also reducing environmental pollution, while doing so. The processed waste will be used as a secondhand fashion or clothing using upcycle method which can gives renewal and adding aesthetic to the items. It starts with an observation stage to the area which being dumped with the waste and an interview to gain the exact informations we need such as amount of the waste and its type. The researcher will also do a literature study for the sake of its concreteness and to support Researcher's statement. Exploration is being done by the researcher in favor of finding out the best method when mixing the waste which would be used as secondhand fashion with upcycle method where it can improve our environmental friendliness. Therefore, not only it could be use as an alternate way of utilizing textiles waste, upcycling also can give a renewal for secondhand fashions.
