Abstract

ABSTRACT Demi-Couture is a half Haute Couture and Pret-à-Porter outfit. To designing a DemiCouture dress, a design concept is needed, the author takes a design concept inspired by Bosscha Observatory building. Bosscha Observatory is the oldest and the only star binocular in Indonesia. The author develops the potential of characters from Demi-Couture clothing by taking the aesthetic potential of the Bosscha Observatory. And making elements from the Bosscha Observatory as inspiration for the design line to design Demi-Couture and take a solid impression from the Bosscha Observatory. The author uses qualitative research methods, namely by observing the field, and looking for literature studies related to research to strengthen the arguments of this study, then the author explores in the form of making a Demi-Couture design sketch inspired by Bosscha observatory. The results of this study are a Demi-Couture fashion design concept that takes inspiration from the Bosscha Observatory architectural form. Keywords: Bosscha Observatory, Demi-Couture, Embroiderry.
